Terms of service
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Draft. This document has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before it takes effect.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the use of Hordio (the "Service"), provided by [Company name ehf.], kennitala [000000-0000], [Street address], [000] Reykjavík, Iceland ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these terms on behalf of the company or organization you register (the "Customer").
The person who accepts these terms confirms that they have authority to bind the Customer.
2. The Service
Hordio is software for registering and managing assets, delivered over the internet as a subscription. We may develop and change the Service over time. We will not remove essential functionality from a plan during a paid period without good reason and reasonable notice.
3. Accounts and users
The Customer is responsible for its users, for who has access and in which role, and for keeping sign-in details secret. Notify us without delay if you suspect unauthorized use.
Users must be at least 18 years old, or act on behalf of the Customer in the course of their work.
4. Free trial
A new organization gets a free trial of 30 days. No payment card is needed. If no plan is chosen when the trial ends, the organization becomes read-only and can still be viewed and exported. If no plan is chosen within 30 days after that, we may delete the organization and its data after notifying the owners by email.
5. Subscriptions and payment
Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance. Our reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd. ("Paddle") is the merchant of record for all orders: Paddle processes the payment, issues the invoice and handles sales tax and VAT. Paddle's own terms of sale apply to the purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown on our pricing page and exclude VAT. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; the change takes effect from the next renewal.
If a payment fails, the Service keeps working for 14 days while Paddle retries. After that the organization becomes read-only until payment is made.
6. Changing plan and cancelling
The Customer can change plan or cancel at any time from the Billing page in the Service. A change takes effect at once and is charged or credited proportionally for the rest of the period. After cancellation the Customer keeps full access until the end of the paid period. Payments already made are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
If the Customer's usage is over the limits of a smaller plan, nothing is deleted, but new assets, users or files cannot be added until the usage is within the limits.
7. Acceptable use
The Customer may not use the Service for anything unlawful, try to gain access to other customers' data, test the security of the Service without our written permission, overload or disrupt the Service, or resell it without an agreement with us.
We may suspend access if the Service is used in breach of these terms or in a way that threatens its security, and we will notify the Customer as soon as possible.
8. The Customer's data
The Customer owns all data it puts in the Service. We use the data only to provide the Service, as described in our privacy policy and in the data processing agreement, which forms part of these terms.
The Customer can export its data at any time, also when the organization is read-only. After a subscription ends the data is deleted as described in section 4 and in the privacy policy. Backups are deleted on a rolling basis within 35 days.
9. Availability and support
We aim for the Service to be available at all times, apart from planned maintenance, which we try to do outside working hours in Iceland. We do not guarantee that the Service will be free of errors or interruptions.
Support is provided by email at support@hordio.com.
10. Intellectual property
We own all rights in the Service, its software and its design. The Customer receives a right to use the Service for its own operations while the subscription is valid. Suggestions the Customer gives us may be used freely to improve the Service.
11. Liability
The Service is provided as it is. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect loss, such as lost profit, lost data or business interruption. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount the Customer has paid for the Service in that period.
These limitations do not apply to loss caused by gross negligence or intent.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Material changes are announced by email to the owners of the organization at least 30 days before they take effect. If the Customer does not accept the change, it can cancel before the change takes effect.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Icelandic law. Disputes that cannot be settled by agreement go to the District Court of Reykjavík (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur).
